The sliders arrive on a world where prohibition still exists, only it was caffeine that was outlawed. They meet a nightclub owner whose lover was murdered by a gang dealing in bootleg coffee. The man was actually murdered by Rembrandt's double, who is a corrupt cop and its revealed that the man was an undercover cop who was found out. Rembrandt and Mallory investigate the gangster Dropper Daddy and are captured and locked in a meat locker, while Maggie and Diana team up with Inspector Wells to bring the gangsters down. They have Wells call Rembrandt's double saying that he found nightclub owner Angie's Columbian connection and he wants Rembrandt's double to act as his partner for the meeting. In reality, Maggie meets with the man, Middling Max earlier and he is arrested. After the gangsters leave to ambush Wells who they believe will be alone, Rembrandt and Mallory manage to break free and steal one of Dropper Daddy's cars to reach the nightclub in time. At the club, Diana pretends to be Max and when the gangsters are gripped by confusion, Maggie and Wells reveal themselves, both armed and demand the surrender of Dropper Daddy, Rembrandt's double and their goon. They pretend to surrender while another goon sneaks down the stairs, but Maggie notices him and kills him, starting a gunfight. Wells manages to kill the other goon, but is wounded by Rembrandt's double who goes to kill him while Dropper Daddy goes after Maggie who runs out of bullets. Just in time, Rembrandt and Mallory arrive and Rembrandt knocks out his double as he's about to kill Wells and Mallory tackles Dropper Daddy, defeating him. Dropper Daddy and Rembrandt's double are arrested and Angie decides to close her nightclub and get out of the caffine buisness and go back to being a singer.
